THE Wonderful Group of Companies (WGC) says it plans to launch a US$350-million phosphate project under an associate subsidiary called Sino-Grade Chemicals to complement the compound D and Urea plants.
WCG deputy chief executive officer, Roy Mwamba said the phosphate project is expected to produce up to 300, 000 tonnes of mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP) per annum.
Mr Mwamba said in a presentation that the first phase of the phosphate project beyond producing 300, 000 tonnes of MAP will produce about 45 Megawatts (Mw) of power.
