OVER 20 Patriotic Front (PF) and independent Members of Parliament (MPs) have urged former president Edgar Lungu to completely retire from active politics, following the Constitutional Court judgement rendering him ineligible to contest the 2026 or any future Presidential elections.
Meanwhile, Information and Media Minister Cornelius Mweetwa has said that the idea of Mr Lungu becoming a presidential running mate in the 2026 general elections is also not workable due to legal technicalities that prevent him from standing as the country’s vice president.
