State spends K4bn on debt service

THE Government has spent K4.1 billion on debt payment out of the K15.7 billion released for the November monthly expenditure by the Ministry of Finance.
In a statement released by the office of the Secretary to the Treasury yesterday, Finance and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane said this was in line with the Government’s commitment to reducing its indebtedness.
He said out of the K4.1 billion released, K1.7 billion went towards domestic debt service, K1.2 billion for external debt service and K1.2 billion went to the ongoing domestic arrears dismantling programme.
