THE Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has revealed that out of the 90 million farmers in the region, only 20 per cent have access to quality and improved seeds.
COMESA stated this during the launch of the Regional Seed Certification and Labelling System.
The system will be implemented by Alliance for Commodity Trade in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACTESA), a specialised agency of COMESA.
