SMALLHOLDER farmers have overwhelmingly responded to the call to grow rain-fed wheat following the production of the suitable seed varieties in Zambia. This is expected to reduce the perennial annual deficit.
The National Association of Smallholder Farmers in Zambia (NASFZ) said there was an overwhelming response from farmers to venture into wheat production this year.
