Chipata City Council ,Makeni All Stars FC secure promotion

Chipata City Council and Makeni All Stars Football Clubs have secured early promotion to the National League, having collected 9 points each in their respective groups.

Both teams maintained a 100% winning record in their three games of the ongoing National Division One Playoffs, Chipata City in Group A and Makeni All Stars in Group B.

In Group A, Mathkat United have been eliminated from the competition after completing all four of their group matches with 6 points, falling short of second placed Solwezi Academy on goal difference.

Muchinga Blue Eagles are also out of contention, having lost all three matches and collected no points. Machacha FC, who will need to beat the bottom-placed side Muchinga Blue Eagles by a margin of four goals to stand a chance of qualification.

Meanwhile, Solwezi Academy have their fate in their own hands as they face the undefeated Chipata City Council and need at least a draw to secure promotion to the National League.

In Group B, the log leaders Makeni All Stars will play a dead rubber match against Barts FC who have already been eliminated, sitting bottom with just one point from three games.

In the same group, Nangwenshi Pirates have once again failed to make it past the play-offs stage, even after being awarded points through a disciplinary decision, they finish with 4 points from 4 games.

The spotlight in Group B now shifts to the crucial clash between Teta FC, who are second with 6 points, and Roan United, who sit on 3 points with a -2 goal difference.

Roan United must win by at least a two-goal margin to overturn the difference and leapfrog into second place to secure promotion.
