CHINESE manufacturing giant, Naipu Machinery Zambia Company Limited has established a US$34 million mining machinery manufacturing plant in Chambishi which is expected to create over 150 direct jobs.
This is the first manufacturing base in Africa, marking a significant milestone in the Zambian sector which is seeking to grow production to a record three million tonnes of copper per annum by 2031.
Speaking during the launch of the manufacturing plant in Chambishi yesterday, Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga said the establishment of the Naipu Mining Machinery was a great testament to Government’s commitment to economic transformation.
