THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has recovered a total amount of K1.3 million in Value Added Tax (VAT) fraud perpetrated by Ding Cheng Investment Limited between April 01 and December 31, 2023.
This was after the ZRA instituted criminal proceedings against the said company in the Lusaka Economic and Financial Crimes Court (EFCC) for offences of furnishing false returns as well as statements.
According to a statement published by ZRA corporate communications manager, Oliver Nzala these offences are contrary to section 43 of the VAT Act chapter 331 of the Laws of Zambia.
