ZAMBIA’S quest for a first-ever under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title yesterday went up in flames after this heavy defeat to former champions at the quarterfinal stage.
An Asharaf Tapsoba hat-trick and a second-half brace from Halidou Diakite did the damage for the young Chipolopolo team.
The three goals from Tapsoba helped him rise to seven goals at the tournament and is a clear favourite for both the top scorer and player of the tournament awards.
