PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has gifted Zambia’s 288 chiefs with farming inputs to encourage them to lead the way in food production during this year’s farming season.
President Hichilema announced this when he officiated at the Ichibwelamushi traditional ceremony of the Lala and Swaka speaking people of Central Province.
Mr Hichilema said the distribution of fertiliser and seed to chiefs would continue as it was meant to ensure traditional leaders led by example and participated in food production to guarantee food security.
