THE Electoral Reforms Technical Committee (ERTC) of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has recommended that Article 68 of the Constitution of Zambia be amended to allow for the number of constituencies to be increased.
The ERTC has further recommended that Article 52 (6) be amended to specifically address issues related to parliamentary and local government elections by clearly outlining the procedures for different scenarios such that in cases where a candidate resigns after nominations, the election should proceed as scheduled.
