ZAMBIA has reached financial closure for the US$100 million, 100 megawatts (MW) Chisamba solar plant project in Central Province which is set to be commissioned at the end of this month.
The project is being developed by Kariba North Bank Extension Power Corporation (KNBEPC), a Zesco subsidiary whose chief executive officer Boyd Kanchela said it would be the largest in the country’s history and in Sub-Saharan Africa outside South Africa.
