A NEW era has started in the Zambia Athletics (ZA) after Bernard Bwalya was elected president and it was largely thanks to the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s (ECZ) deciding vote as Elias Mpondela’s 27-year-reign effectively came to an end yesterday.
Mpondela’s preferred candidate and former ZA general secretary Davison Mung’ambata tumbled after he earlier tied with Bwalya on 46 votes apiece.
