THE consignments of imported onions have continued following in from South Africa to dampen the shortage of the
commodity which has become perennial on the local market.
About 1,000 tonnes of onions have so far been imported and offloaded on the local market since the exercise started and it is hoped this will reduce the shortfall in supply and help cut the prices of the commodity.
